New visa rules from February 2020: Please take note of the following changes in the Visa Regulation (Visa Code) which will enter into force 02 February 2020:
10 February 2020
Closure for Norway Visa Application centre in Hangzhou from 10 February 2020 to 14 February 2020. Norway Visa Application centre in Shanghai will open for passport collection from 09:00 to 11:00 on 11 February 2020.
19 September 2019
Closure for Norway Visa Application centre from 30 September 2019 to 02 October 2019.
28 January 2019
Closure for Norway Visa Application centre from 04 February 2019 to 06 February 2019.
22 March 2016
Closure of Norway Visa Application Centre on 25 March 2016.
Norway Visa Application Centre will be closed from 25 March 2016 (Easter - Good Friday). Normal working hours will be resumed on 28 March 2016.

Closure of Norway Visa Application Centre from 8-10 February 2016.
Norway Visa Application Centre will be closed from 8 to 10 Feb 2016 (Chinese New Year). Normal working hours will be resumed on 11 Feb 2016.

Introduction of the Visa Information System (VIS) on 12 October 2015.
As from 12 October 2015 all applicants will be required to provide their biometric data (10 fingerprints and a digital photograph) when applying for a Schengen visa. It is a simple procedure that only takes a few minutes.

Norway Visa Application Centre will be closed on 4 September 2015 (The 70 Anniversary of the Victory of the Anti-Fascist War). Normal working hours will be resumed on 7 September 2015.

Relocation of Norwegian Visa application Centre - Shanghai - 25 May 2015
Please be informed that the Norwegian Visa Application Centre – Shanghai will be relocated to a new location for submission of visa applications and for collection of the processed visa application result. Effective 25 May 2015, applicants need to visit the new NorwegianVisa Application Centre located at “3rd Floor, Jiushi Commercial Building, 213 Sichuan Middle Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China”.

The Norwegian Visa Application Centre in Guangzhou has been appointed by the Royal Consulate General in Guangzhou as a collection agent for visa applications, with effect from 12 February 2014, in accordance with the jurisdiction specified (Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan, Guangxi). All individuals submitting documents at the Visa Application Center should note that as per requirement from the Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou a visa application shall be submitted by the applicant in person.
The Norwegian Visa Application Centre in Guangzhou will also accept short term visa applications from applicants heading to Sweden.

Neither the Embassy nor Visa Application Centre approve of such services and shall not assume any responsibility for information provided by such agents. Especially need to beware of invitations offered by such agents – often these documents are false.
