The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou are pleased to announce that VFS Global has been authorized to run the Norwegian Visa Application Centre in Guangzhou. This service is available for Chinese citizens /non-Chinese citizens legally residing in China and Mongolian citizen who wish to apply for a Schengen visa or residence permit to Norway. The Norwegian Visa Application Centre in Guangzhou can also accept Schengen visa applications to Sweden. Step 2 Before you decide to apply for a visa please make sure you familiarize yourself with the information on the visa subclass you are applying for. Quick links to information on visa categories and other helpful information including Visa Fee, VFS Service Charge and Processing Time can be found on the Visa Wizard page on this website.
Step 3 Applicants should fill the Visa Application Form corresponding to the visa subclass under which they wish to lodge their application. Applicants can get the visa application form by visiting the nearest Norway Visa Application Centre or by downloading the forms from Applications and Forms.
More family members who live outside the EU/ EEA can now travel to Norway.
The government has announced that it will be possible for more family members residing outside the EU/ EEA to travel to Norway from 21 October 2020. Before applying for your visa, please read the complete information here.
From 15 July 2020 the Norwegian government allows for visits to boyfriends or girlfriends who live in Norway in addition to visits to close family. The Directorate of Immigration (UDI) has prepared a form to be filled by the sponsor declaring that the relationship is genuine and has been lasting for more than nine months. This comes in addition to other required documents. The form can be found at www.UDI.no. Visa applicants must bring a copy of the signed form when handing the application and supporting documents. All other requirements for a visa are still in effect. Travellers who are exempted from the visa requirement must bring the form when checking in at the airport.

Change in entry rules from 15th of July
In effect from the 15 July 2020. Norway is opening for submission of certain categories of short-stay visas (C) and D-entry. The acceptance of residence permits is the same as before. Temporary closure of VFS’ Visa Application Centers for Norway:
From 15 July 2020 until further notice, Guangzhou Norway Visa Application Centre will provide passport-back service from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs on Monday and Thursday only, and accept new applications from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs on Monday and Thursday only.
The Norwegian Consulate General request all applicant applying for visa to Sweden to contact the Swedish Embassy in Beijing or the Swedish Consulate General in Shanghai.

Increased fees for visa applications
Please note: As of 02 February 2020 the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent.
